19 of the Russian's twenty-one victories have been achieved on hard surfaces
A comeback Medvedev claimed his maiden trophy for 882 days with victory over Corentin Moutet in the Almaty Open championship match.
Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has had a difficult period, winning just one match at the major tournaments and undergoing a difficult moment at the American major.
His varied form on the tennis tour - and issues with his service game in particular - caused him exiting of the top ten and eventually splitting with long-time coach Cervara.
Currently training with Johansson and his other coach, the tennis star has gradually improved in the last few weeks - culminating in a closely contested three-set win over opponent Moutet.
This represents the player's initial trophy following the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hardcourt from that period of that year.
Success also signifies Medvedev has achieved 21 championships at twenty-one different events.
"For the first time I am participating in a competition with my children at once, so to secure a title is especially meaningful," said ranked player Medvedev.
"This championship is in honour of my younger daughter my daughter, because the first title I got when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."
Medvedev, the past champion, had been defeated in his past six finals, comprising in Halle in the past months.
His defensive play style and frequent reactions on the tennis court had led commentators to question if his skill to compete at the top level was over.
However the player has implemented adjustments in recent weeks, making an effort to advance forward and play assertively, reinforced by an better serve.
Medvedev recovered from a break down in the opening set against the tricky Frenchman, winning 4 of the final five points to gain the advantage.
The pair exchanged break points in the middle set before the challenger, bidding for his initial tour championship, seized the initiative to create a third set.
Moutet defended four early break points in a tight final set before the Russian secured a break to fifteen to secure the win.
Appropriately, the winner earned the title with a shot at the front of the court, with Moutet incapable to manage a volley after a lengthy match.
